POWER COMPANY SCAM UNPLUGGED

 

Ian has taken up casework , helping a resident who was being taken to court for allegedly not paying an estimated bill.

 

Ian said, “I was horrified as the story and evidence unravelled  The resident had simply switched suppliers, but the old supplier wanted to grab as much money as possible and so overestimated a bill, then went on to charge that bill twice over and was proceeding to court to demand  payment of an overestimated bill a second time.”  

 

Ian has already received a written apology from the provider and is chasing for a full refund plus interest and full compensation, while also obtaining assurances that this practice will stop.

 

Meanwhile Ian is working with MP’s to ensure that the practice of final billing using estimated readings is stamped out across the country.  This has included a demand to view corrections to their billing system and for the MD to appear and answer questions.

 

Ian said, “If the power companies think they can get away with bullying local residents in Newcastle, they have now met their match!”

 

Ian is quite used to taking on the utilities companies.  Following a long history of a water company polluting an area, Ian took the company on, which resulted in the second largest investment within the country.
